Privacy notice
Short version: the software runs on your computer and sends me nothing. This website has no analytics, no trackers and no advertising. I receive what you send me by email, and my hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs. Nothing else.
In this document "I", "me" and "the maker" mean the same single individual who builds and publishes Cognis Protocol. There is no company behind it.
1. The software
Cognis runs entirely on your own device. I run no servers for it, collect no telemetry, and receive none of your data.
Specifically, I do not receive: your files, your documents, your messages, your prompts, the answers the model gives you, your voice, your camera images, your face or voice templates, your screen contents, your wallet addresses, your keys, your usage, your crashes, or your device identifiers. None of it leaves your machine because of anything the software does.
Everything the software stores, it stores on your device, encrypted at rest. You can delete it by deleting the files. There is no account, no sign-in, and nothing to close.
If you choose to connect the software to an outside service yourself, that service receives whatever you send it, under its own terms. That is your choice and outside my control.
2. Face and voice
Face and voice recognition are optional, used only to confirm you are the owner of this device, and processed on-device; templates never leave it.
The check is one-to-one: it compares what the camera or microphone sees against your own stored template, and answers only "this is the owner" or "this is not". It is not identification of strangers, and the software does not build, store or look anything up in a database of other people's faces or voices. The software does not create or keep a template belonging to anyone other than the owner.
The software asks for your explicit consent before any of this is switched on, it is off by default, and you can switch it off and delete the template at any time from within the software.
3. Synthetic content
I label synthetic output in the interface. I have not implemented machine-readable provenance marking yet.
- The interface tells you that you are talking to an AI system.
- Voice output is synthesised by AI and is labelled as machine-generated.
- Images, video and audio I publish that were generated or meaningfully altered by AI carry a visible label.
I do not remove provenance markers from my own generated output.
4. This website
This site sets no cookies, loads no third-party analytics, no advertising, no social widgets and no tracking pixels. There is no visitor profile and no cross-site tracking.
Every file this site needs — the stylesheet, the scripts, the fonts, the images and the video — is served from this site itself. Opening a page makes no request to any third party at all, so no other company learns your IP address or your browser from visiting here.
I do not claim to collect nothing at all — that would be false. Like any website, this one is served by a hosting provider that keeps ordinary server logs (IP address, time, the page requested, browser string) for a short period, for security and abuse handling. I do not link those records to any identity and do not use them for anything else.
The geographic policy describes an IP-based location check for the token pages. That check is not in operation today, so I create no location record of that kind. If I introduce it, this notice will say so and the date at the top will change.
5. Email
There is no contact form here. The address on the contact page opens your own mail program; nothing is submitted to a server on this site.
If you write to me, I receive what you send: your message, your email address, and anything you choose to include. I use it to answer you and for nothing else. I do not sell it, do not share it for marketing, and do not use it to build a profile. Ask and I will delete it.
6. Donations
If you send a donation, the transaction is on a public blockchain and is public by nature — I do not put it there and cannot remove it. I do not ask donors for identity documents and do not link donations to any person. Donations are unrelated to CGOX: I give nothing in exchange for one, and no benefit of any kind attaches to making one.
7. Your rights
Where data protection law applies to you, you can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, and object to its use. In practice the answer is usually short, because in almost every case I hold nothing. Write to info@cognis.website.
8. Children
The software and this site are not directed at children.
9. Changes
If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it.
